Back end of a strip being cut or stamped is bent up before its last feed step prior to the last cutting or stamping operation, the next strip being fed forward at the same time so that their ends overlap. after the last operation on the leading strip they are fed forward together, but the leading strip is snatched away at higher speed clear of the cutting/stamping zone.
