A power screw tool has a drive part (11) equipped with a hydraulic cylinder and an output part (12) with a rotatably mounted drive-shaft (14) in a housing (10) the shaft being rotated in intervals by a ratchet lever. A continuously actuating friction brake is provided and generates a frictional force to the power output shaft (14) and to the housing (10).
