<p>&lt;P&gt;PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for putting a partial defect in a molding material outside of an optical effective diameter. Ž&lt;P&gt;SOLUTION: The molding method of the optical element comprises a step of arranging a preform 38 having the partial defect between an upper mold 23 and a lower mold 24 and of heating and pressurizing to mold the optical element 39. The method has a process of pressurizing and deforming the preform 38, and of arranging the preform 38 between the upper mold 23 and the lower mold 24 such that the defect 138 be located outside of the optical effective diameter D1, D2 of the optical element 39 after molding.
