Aqs. stoving lacquers consist of the amine salts of the alkyltetrahydrophthalatic half esters of OH-contng. alkyd resins modified with fatty acids, which contain condensed polyols and dicarboxylic acids in a molar ratio of 1.0-1.3:1. The stoving lacquers may also contain water miscible org. solvents, and/or aminoplasts, and pref. pigments. NE. 66,08664 employed stoving lacquers based on half esters of tetrahydrophthalic acid or endomethylenetetrahydrophthalic acid. The present use of half esters of alkyltetrahydrophthalic acid extends the range of raw materials available for the prepn. of the half esters.
