A rotatable surface aerator comprises a circular or polygonal disc 10 having a continuous peripheral lip 16, and blades 13 fastened directly to the underside of the disc and so shaped that liquid is directed against the underside of the disc. As shown the blades may be curved and rotated in either direction, or they may be curved outwardly on both sides (see Fig. 5, not shown). Their outer edges may have a short vertical portion 15 and therebelow be inwardly convergent, and a coaxial stationary uptake tube with an inverted conical top complementary to the downwardly tapering form of the blades may be provided. Stationary baffles may restrain rotation of the liquid.</p> |
