摘要 The apparatus includes a source of light (1200) for emitting light having a front surface, a rear surface, a right surface, and a left surface; a down conversion material (1202) receiving the emitted light, and converting the emitted light into transmitted light and backward transmitted light and a reflector (1206) having a first reflective surface facing the front surface and able to reflect light directly from the light source (1200), a second reflective surface facing the right surface, and a third reflective surface facing the left surface. The phosphor layer (1202) is arranged between the light source (1200) and the reflector (1206) being spaced away from the light source. The source of light (1200) is a semiconductor light emitting diode, which may include a light emitting diode (LED), a laser diode (LD), or a resonant cavity light emitting diode (RCLED).
