1,220,755. Weighted cords. GARDISETTE G.m.b.H. 8 Aug., 1968 [12 Dec., 1967], No. 37869/68. Addition to 1,130,529. Heading D1T. [Also in Division A4] A weighting strip for curtains comprises spaced, individual pieces of lead 3 secured on a plastics strip 1# by an adhesive coating, the coating being applied to the strip as a single band of substantially the same width as the strip or as three spaced bands 4, 2, 4 and the strip subsequently folded into a tube-like casing which is held together by the seam formed by the coating 4, 4. In manufacture the lead pieces are cut from a lead wire fed to a cutting machine, and deposited on a plastics strip fed therebeneath, the spacing of the pieces being determined by the speeds at which the lead wire and plastics strip are fed and/or the frequency of the cutting device. A textile outer casing may be provided. |
