PURPOSE: A composition containing VIP is provided to effectively prevent stress or mood disorders and to enhance gene expression and protect nervous cells. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating mood disorders contains VIP(Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide) as an active ingredient. The VIP has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1. The composition enhances BcL-2 expression and GDNF(Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide). The mood disorder includes depression(unipolar disorder), bipolar disorder I or II, or cyclothymic disorder. A composition for preventing and treating the mood disorder contains GDNF or Bcl-2 gene or protein thereof as an active ingredient. |
