PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for setting an idle screen are provided to interface various application programs on an idle screen. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(115) receives a user input signal for setting up an idle screen through a direction key, and a memory(117) stores widgets and the widget tray including the widgets. A display unit(119) displays the widget tray when setting up the idle screen, and an idle screen setup unit(121) selects the widget on the widget tray by using the user input signal. The idle screen setup unit sets up the idle screen by adding/deleting the selected widget. |
