A method for setting a channel map of a DTV(Digital TV) and the DTV are provided to allow a user to dispose a newly added channel at a particular position of a channel map according to user selection and arbitrarily configure a channel map of a user preferred channel or a previous channel with priority. A DTV tuner unit(100) additionally inputs a new channel. A storage unit(180) stores a channel map. A remote controller input unit(190) arbitrarily designates a position of the added channel on the channel map of the storage unit(180). A controller(170) reconfigures the channel map by disposing the added channel at the designated position on the channel map of the storage unit(180). A preference channel function is set for a particular channel among channels. The channel map is re-configured such that the set preference channel is preferentially disposed at a front portion. |
