PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of polyarylene sulfides is provided to effectively and economically obtain a high molecular weight polyarylene sulfide resin with excellent thermal properties by using a multicomponent catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of polyarylene sulfides comprises a step of putting a polymerization catalyst into reactor when polymerizing a polyarylene sulfide from a para-halogenated benzene and elementary sulfur. The catalyst is a multicomponent catalyst of a metal catalyst and a hetero co-catalyst. The content of the metal catalyst is 0.1-5.0 wt% based on sulfur content. The hetero co-catalyst comprises a disulfide-based catalyst as a first co-catalyst, and a second co-catalyst selected from a sulphenamide-based, turane-based, thiourea-based, and dithiocarbamate-based co-catalyst.
