PURPOSE: A battery charging device for adaptively varying separately charged battery cells and a battery charging control method thereof are provided to reduce charging time by supplying charging power to a preset number of battery cells. CONSTITUTION: A charging unit(110) supplies charging power to a plurality of battery cells in a battery pack(130). The charging unit supplies power charged in the battery pack to another module or devices. A switching unit(120) switches an electrical connection between the battery cells and the charging unit. A battery management system(140) controls the charging unit and the switching unit to uniformly charge the battery cells in the battery pack. The managing unit performs a separate charge process based on the charging state of the battery cells.
