PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of expandable polystyrene particles is provided to efficiently re-polymerizing expandable particles containing a foaming agent generated at suspension polymerization of normal expandable polystyrene particles. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of expandable polystyrene particles comprises: a step of forming aqueous dispersion selectively comprising expandable seed particles, dispersant, surfactant; a step of seed polymerization by continuously adding styrene-based monomer in which an initiator, additives are dissolved under pressing condition in order not to foam the expandable seed particles; and a step of obtaining expandable polystyrene particles by injecting a foaming agent after polymerization. The pressing condition is condition maintaining inner pressure of particles higher than external pressure above the softening point of the expandable polystyrene particles. |
