PURPOSE: A steering angle calculating apparatus and a method thereof by using moving distance difference of left and right rear wheels are provided to compensate second steering angle by using a first steering angle by calculating moving distance difference of left and right rear wheels. CONSTITUTION: A steering angle calculating apparatus and method thereof by using moving distance difference of left and right rear wheels comprise a moving stroke output unit(11), a steering angle output unit(12), a control unit(13), a CAN(Controller Area Network), and a CAN message transmitting unit(14). A moving stroke output unit calculates moving difference between a left rear wheel and a right rear wheel. The steering angle output unit outputs a first steering angle by using calculated moving difference between a left rear wheel and a right rear wheel. In case of the calculated moving difference between a left rear wheel and a right rear wheel and a second steering angle are different, the control unit produces a CAN message capable of containing error message. And CAN message transmitting unit transfers through CAN. |
