PURPOSE: A winding apparatus for a rolling product and a controlling method thereof are provided to prevent the rear end portion of a workpiece from being interposed between the workpiece and a coil car, thereby preventing the deformation of a portion in contact with the rear end portion of the workpiece due to the self-weight of the workpiece. CONSTITUTION: A winding apparatus for a rolling product comprises a guide part(10), a winding part(30), a coil car(50), a detecting part, and a controlling part. The guide part guides a workpiece on which a rolling process is completed. The winding part winds the workpiece fed through the guide part into a coil. The coil car supports the workpiece wound on the winding part. The detecting part detects the length of the workpiece which passes through the guide part. The detecting part detects whether or not the rear end portion of the workpiece passes through. The controlling part transmits an actuation signal to the coil car depending on a detect signal transmitted from the detecting part, and controls the position of the rear end portion of the workpiece by transmitting a stop signal to the winding part. The guide part includes a guide body(12), a guide roller(14), a guide rod(16), and a guide table(18). The workpiece passes through the guide body installed at the outlet of a rolling roller. The guide roller installed at the guide body forms a path line for guiding the workpiece. The guide rod rotatably installed at the guide body includes a guide roller which pressurizes the upper side of the workpiece. The guide table is rotatably installed at the guide body, and is opposed to the guide rod. The guide table supports the bottom side of the workpiece.
