PURPOSE: A vertical axis wind power generator is provided to offer a wing frontal angle adjusting device for the rotation of a wind vane to be delivered to an impeller and to enable smooth power transmission between the wind vane and the impeller by using a cone clutch, thereby enhancing output power and effectively standing a strong wind. CONSTITUTION: A vertical axis wind power generator includes a wing frontal angle adjusting device(30) which adjust the rotating angle of an impeller(11) by interlocking with the wind direction of a wind vane(7). The wing frontal angle adjusting device comprises a first shaft(31) which rotates with the wind vane installed at the upper side; a upper case(35) rotatably supporting the first shaft which passes through the upper case; a lower case(33) of which the upper circumference is coupled with the lower circumference of the upper case and the lower rotation center is coupled with the upper shaft of the impeller; and a gear decelerating unit(32) which is meshed with a driven gear(33a) formed in the inner circumferential surface of the lower case and drives the upper case and the impeller by using rotational force supplied from the wind vane coupled with the first shaft. The gear decelerating unit comprises a driving gear(32a) which is connected to the first shaft for being supplied with the rotational force from the wind vane; a driven gear which is contacted with the outer side of the driving gear; multiple planetary gears(32c) which are idle-rotatable and installed along the inner side of the driven gear at regular intervals; and an upper and a lower supporting plate(32e, 32d) which are installed facing each other for maintaining the constant distance between the rotation axes of the planetary gears and the driving gear.
