A method and an apparatus for reproducing a diesel particulate filter are provided to prevent a diesel particulate filter from abnormally operating due to excessive accumulation of particulate matters in the diesel particulate filter. A method for reproducing a diesel particulate filter comprises a step of monitoring in real-time information on engine RPM, fuel amount, an EGR signal, exhaust temperature and pressure difference after/before a filter(S10). An engine state is classified into high speed/high load conditions and low speed/high low conditions according to the information and then weights are set(S50,S80). Converted pressure differences are accumulated and summed up using the set weights(S90). When the summation value is greater than a measured pressure difference, a diesel particulate filter is reproduced(S100). |
