PURPOSE: An LCD is provided to reduce the disorder of a liquid crystal layer by using a shielding electrode for preventing the leakage of an electric field. CONSTITUTION: Transparent band-shaped electrodes(112A-112D) are formed on a first substrate(110A). A second substrate(110B) includes a transparent common electrode(115). A wall shape spacer(116) is formed between the first and the second substrate. A shielding electrode(115S) is formed on the wall of the wall shape spacer.
