摘要 An LCD device having a column gate driver and a driving method thereof are provided to ensure sufficient gate charge times by processing pixel data for every a half of a frame. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes an LCD panel(310), a timing controller(340), a frame memory(350), a column gate driver(320), and a low data driver(330). The LCD panel includes gate and data lines, and plural pixels. The timing controller reads one input frame data by a half frame unit, aligns the read frame data, and generates the aligned half frame pixel data, gate and data control signals. The aligned half frame pixel data and the other half frame pixel data to be aligned are stored in the frame memory. The column gate driver drives gates along a column direction of the LCD panel and sequentially outputs scan pulses to the gate lines according to the gate control signal. The low data driver drives sources along a row direction of the LCD panel and outputs data voltages to the data lines corresponding to the data control signal and the aligned half frame pixel data.
