PURPOSE: A file restoration method and a system therefor are provided to return a file to a specific file version based on a file version history managed by a server in a cloud environment. CONSTITUTION: A transceiving unit(101) receives the information request of a restoring target file version in a file version history from a terminal. A storage unit(151) stores backward delta file according to a file version by receiving the backward delta file generated in the modification of a file. A determination unit(131) determines the overlapped part of the backward delta files stored in the storage unit. A synchronization unit(171) executes the synchronization of the terminal by generating the delta file according to a determination result.
