PURPOSE: A device for selecting icons and a method thereof are provided to select icons by using a secondary cursor. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(108) senses user input for changing a position of a sub-cursor. A memory unit(106) stores sub-cursor moving distance information corresponding to the touch input of a user. A sub-cursor management unit(102) outputs the sub-cursor for selecting icons. The sub-cursor management unit changes the position of the sub-cursor according to the touch input of the user. An application processing unit(104) executes the selected icon through the sub-cursor.
