A thin film transistor array panel and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reinforce voltage sustaining performance of a liquid crystal condenser by forming a sustaining condenser without performing an additional process. A first signal line is formed on a substrate(110). A second signal line crosses the first signal line and includes a gate electrode(124). A first interlayer dielectric(140) having a first opening for exposing the gate electrode is formed on the first signal line and the second signal line. A gate insulator(146) is formed in the first opening. A source electrode(193) is positioned on the gate insulator and is connected to the first signal line. A pixel electrode(191) is positioned on the gate insulator and includes a drain electrode facing the source electrode. A sustain electrode line is parallel to one of the first and second signal lines and is partially overlaid on the pixel electrode. A barrier rib(180) is formed on the source electrode and the drain electrode in order to define a second opening for exposing partially the source electrode and the drain electrode. An organic semiconductor(154) is formed in the second opening. |
