PURPOSE: A password input system of a digital door lock and a control method thereof are provided to improve the security of a digital door lock and to prevent a password from being exposed to other people. CONSTITUTION: A digital door lock(80) includes a gesture recognition unit(34), a number recognition unit(32), a registration button(40), an opening and closing switch(62), and a control unit(70). The gesture recognition unit recognizes a gesture inputted through a touch sensor unit. A number recognition unit recognizes numbers inputted through a touch sensor unit. The registration button sets a password comprising the gestures and the numbers. The control unit controls the operation of the opening and closing switch when a sensing signal inputted from the touch sensor unit is matched with the password stored in the storage unit.
