This information processing device is provided with a memory, and a processing unit for executing an operating system (OS) and for processing a logical domain providing a predetermined function as a calculator and a hypervisor for managing the logical domain. The OS detects the hardware to be diagnosed, secures a memory region used by the OS during the diagnostic process, and commands an OS kernel to ignore any errors generated in the memory region. Moreover, the OS commands the hypervisor to ignore any errors generated in the memory region used for the diagnosis and outputs a diagnosis request containing the designation of the hardware to be diagnosed. Then, upon receiving the diagnosis request, the hypervisor configures the settings for ignoring the errors generated in the memory region used by a diagnosis unit for diagnosis, and performs a diagnostic evaluation on the hardware to be diagnosed.
