METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING PUSH MESSAGE SERVICE BASED ON PS PAGING

PURPOSE: Push message service method and apparatus are provided to smoothly service a push message even though an IP address of a terminal is not confirmed due to communication error by reducing load of a network by performing TCP/IP session connection between a push server and a terminal when if a push message is generated and by inducing PS(Packet Switching) paging through an IP address management server. CONSTITUTION: A push message including an identification number of a recipient terminal and a push message transmission request is received from an application server(S11). The application server confirms an IP address of the recipient terminal using the identification number(S20), induces TCP/IP connection with the recipient terminal using the IP address(S30) and transmits the push message to the recipient terminal. The recipient terminal clicks the received push message(S50) and accesses to a service(S51) and uses the service(S52). When terminating the corresponding application(S60) the recipient terminal terminates TCP/IP connection with the recipient terminal(S61).
