CAST ROLL OF TWIN ROLL STRIP CASTER

PURPOSE: A cast roll of a twin roll strip caster is provided to improve the quality of a thin plate by reducing the thickness variation of the thin plate by minimizing the difference of the entry and exit diameters of the cast roll. CONSTITUTION: A cast roll of a twin roll strip caster comprises a pair of cast roll main bodies and a coolant flow passage. The coolant flow passage alternately flows coolant directly under the surfaces of the cast roll main bodies in order to uniform the amount of heat absorption over the entire width of the cast roll main bodies. The coolant is flowed into the coolant flow passage and subsequently branched into first and second coolants. The coolant flow passage comprises a forward thin pipe through which the first coolant flows in the flowing direction of the coolant and a backward thin pipe through which the second coolant flows in the backward direction of the coolant. The forward and backward thin pipes are formed along the width of the cast roll main bodies. The coolant flow passage comprises an entry main pipe(41) and an exit main pipe(72). The entry main pipe is formed in the center of one side of the cast roll body and flows in the coolant. The exit main pipe is formed in the center of the other side of the cast roll body and discharges the coolant. The coolant which flows into the entry main pipe is branched into the first and second coolants. The first coolant flows in the forward thin pipe with an opening at one side. The second coolant flows in the backward thin pipe with an opening at the other side. The first and second coolants alternately flow in and subsequently are discharged through the exit main pipe.
