<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent peeling of plating at a rear leg part at the time of press-fitting, and to decrease the diameter of a through hole for soldering the rear leg part. <P>SOLUTION: A press-fit terminal 10 containing an electrical connection part 11 at a front part, a rear leg part 15 at a rear part, and a hooking part 14 between them is secured to a connector housing by inserting the rear leg part into a press-fit hole from the front side toward the rear side. A range of the press-fit terminal from the electrical connection part to the hooking part is formed in a square pin shape having a square cross section. The rear leg part is formed in round pin shape having a round cross section of a diameter being d which is smaller than minimum dimension H1 between inner walls that face each other of the press-fit hole of the connector housing. The hooking part includes a stopper projection 12 which hits against a hooking wall 22a on the front side of the press-fit hole to regulate inserting position of the terminal, and a hooking projection 13 which hooks on a hooking wall 23a on the rear side of the press-fit hole after penetrating the press-fit hole, for retaining the terminal.
