<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information input apparatus using a clickable rotation type input device which has such a good operability that the apparatus enables a user to correctly depress a switch on the input device by a finger without shifting a depression position. <P>SOLUTION: An information input apparatus comprises: a position movement information calculation unit 5 for converting rotation information acquired when a user has operated a rotary member into position movement information and position information; a position movement information series storage unit 6 for storing position movement information for a predetermined time; and a position information series storage unit 7 for storing position information for a predetermined time. When a switch of an input device is depressed, a depression start position estimation unit 18 estimates a depression start position when the user starts depressing an operation member 210, by using the position movement information stored in the position movement information series storage unit 6 and the position information stored in the position information series storage unit 7.
