<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a versatile method for preparing a substituted pyridine having an electron-attractive substituent at the 4-position. <P>SOLUTION: The substituted pyridine derivative is prepared by reacting an α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compound expressed by formula: R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>-C(O)-C(R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>)=C(R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>)-G, where in formula, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are each independently represents H, a 1-20C alkyl group or the like; R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>represents CN, NO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, a 1-20C alkyl group or the like; and G represents an amino group or a leaving group, with a Wittig reagent or Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons reagent in the presence of a base, and by optionally conducting subsequent cyclization. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
