<p>According to this method for cutting a honeycomb molded body, a columnar honeycomb molded body is cut into a predetermined length, the honeycomb molded body being made of a material comprising silicon carbide, being produced by extrusion molding, and comprising a large number of cells juxtaposed in the longitudinal direction with a cell wall between the cells, and an outer peripheral wall formed on the sides of the honeycomb molded body. The method for cutting a honeycomb molded body comprises a groove forming step to form a cutting aid groove on the outer periphery of the honeycomb molded body by laser having a wavelength range of 0.7 to 2.5 µm, and a wire cutting step to cut the honeycomb molded body by a wire using the cutting aid groove.</p> |
