<p>1,267,376. Polyamide composition. DYNA. MIT NOBEL A.G. 24 March, 1969 [23 March, 1968], No. 15387/69. Heading C3R. A composition comprises by weight (a) 1-99 parts partially crystallized polyamide A and (b) 99-1 parts amorphous polyamide B. Polyamide A is derivable from an #-amino acid or #- lactam or from an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and an unbranched aliphatic diamine; the term " partially crystallized " means that part of A is amorphous and part crystalline. Polyamide B is derivable from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and 2,2,4- and/or 2,4,4-trimethyl hexamethylene diamine. Polyamide A may be nylon 6,6/6,6/10,11,12, or a co-condensate of hexamethylene diamine, adipic acid, and G-caprolactam, with or without P,P<SP>1</SP>-diamine-dicyclohexyl methane. Polyamide B may be derived from terephthalic acid or its dimethyl ester. The viscosity number of B may be 90-180. The composition may be formed by melt compounding A and B, e.g. at 220-280‹ C. or by use of powdered A and B in a high-speed fluidizing mixture. Use.-Moulding, e.g. injection moulding of 4 mm. sheets.</p> |
