A battery locking device and a mobile terminal having the same are provided to easily replace a battery by cooperatively unlocking the battery from terminal plates when a cover is mounted at an opening of a battery receiving part or released therefrom. A battery(20) is slidably received in a battery receiving part(11) formed at a main body(10). Locking recesses(21) are formed on at least one of both sides of the battery(20), on which terminals(25) for supplying power are mounted. Terminal plates(15) are mounted on at least one of both sides of the battery receiving part(11), inserted into the locking recesses(21) to prevent the battery(20) from moving in a lengthwise direction, and contact with the terminals(25) to connect power. |
