A rope winding wheel for a rope descending device. A rope groove of the rope winding wheel is disposed to be of a V-shaped structure (1.3). When a force is applied to a rope, the rope presses in a seam of the V-shaped groove. When the force applied to the rope becomes larger, the depth by which the rope presses in the V-shaped groove is larger. The two sides of the V-shaped groove generate a high pressure on the rope, so as to ensure a sufficient friction between the rope and the rope winding wheel, thereby omitting a wear-resistant rubber layer at the outer surface of the rope winding wheel, and reducing the fabrication cost and fabrication difficulty.
