INK CARTRIDGE AND INKJET RECORDING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge capable of preserving for long periods an ink that can record a high optical density image regardless of the type of recording media, and capable of enduring a shock of falling because of its high dimensional accuracy.

SOLUTION: The ink cartridge includes an enclosure formed from a resin and an ink housed inside of the enclosure. The resin contains a white mica composition, and the ink contains a self-dispersing pigment and salt wherein a functional group containing two phosphonic acid groups is combined on a particle surface. The salt consists of a combination of a particular cation and a particular anion. The amount of calcium in the ink after 2-month storage at 60°C is 10 ppm or less.
