<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device that uses light emission elements each having a laminate structure provided with plural light emitting units, and varies little in luminous color even if the illuminating device is used for a long period. <P>SOLUTION: A light emission region is divided into plural light emission areas, and the plural light emission elements are provided in the divided light emission areas. At least one of the light emission elements serves as a first light emission element having plural light emission units, and at least one of the light emission elements serves as a second light emission element. An illuminating device also comprises control means which, when an initial light emission color of the first light emission element is represented as a first light emission color and a light emission color of the first light emission element which has varied with time is represented as a second light emission color, controls the second light emission element to emit light of a color corresponding to the complementary color of the second light emission color.
