A dispensing container for dispensing particulate material comprising a cup and a closure attachable to a mouth of the cup, wherein the closure includes a cover with a closable opening through which particulate material is dispensed, the opening having a variably sized dispensing area; and an agitator located in the container on an inside of the closure which is driven to agitate particulate material to meter the particulate material through the opening.
