COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE IN FELINES WITH HYPERTHYROIDISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions for preventing and/or treating cardiovascular diseases in felines with hyperthyroidism.

SOLUTION: The compositions comprise from about 0.07 mg/kg to less than about 1 mg/kg iodine and/or from about 0.1 mg/kg to about 1.3 mg/kg selenium. The compositions further comprise from about 31% to about 35% protein which preferably comprises at least about 75% vegetable derived protein.
