ADAPTER, CAMERA SYSTEM, CAMERA BODY, ADAPTER CONTROL PROGRAM, AND CAMERA BODY CONTROL PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter which can functionalize various types of optical systems appropriately in a lens interchangeable type camera system.

SOLUTION: An adapter comprises: a first mount unit to/from which a camera body is attachable/detachable; a second mount unit which is provided independently from the first mount unit, and to/from which an interchangeable lens is attachable/detachable; a power supply unit for generating a voltage to be supplied to the interchangeable lens; a storage unit for storing a software program; and an adapter control unit for controlling the power supply unit in accordance with the software program stored in the storage unit to supply power to the interchangeable lens. The adapter control unit causes the power supply unit to stop the power supply to the interchangeable lens when the software program is updated.
