PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing an artificial quartz by which a growing speed of crystal when growing the artificial quartz is substantially enhanced, and a high quality quartz with less impurity and inclusion content can be produced at low cost.

SOLUTION: The method and the apparatus 20 for producing the artificial quartz in which raw material quartz 30 melted in an alkaline solution arranged in the lower area 21b of an artificial quartz growing furnace body container 21 and the artificial quartz is grown by recrystallizing the raw material quartz 30 on seed quartz 3 arranged in growing frames 8 in an upper area 21a of the container body 21 is characterized in that the seed quartz 3 is inclined a predetermined angle around a vertical line of the container 21 and arranged in a rotary helical shape in a clockwise direction or an anticlockwise direction, the seed quartz 3 is constituted of seed quartz for products and seed quartz with cut different from that of the seed quartz for products and simultaneously arranged in the artificial quartz growing furnace body container 21, thereby the aritificial quartz is grown.
