<p>PURPOSE: An application providing method, an application download method, a server, and a terminal are provided to allow a user to simply download applications by managing application installation information according to each platform. CONSTITUTION: A network interface(110) connects to a terminal via a network, and a database(120) stores an application matching table and metadata. A control unit(100) receives the platform information of the terminal and an application installation request corresponding to the metadata. The control unit transmits application installation information corresponding to the platform information of the terminal from the application matching table to the terminal in response to the application installation request. The control unit receives an URL(Uniform Resource Locator) of the metadata including application recommendation or sharing information from a first server by transmitting the application recommendation or sharing information to the first server.
