PURPOSE: An electronic control unit(ECU) software update device in a vehicle is provided to reduce working hours and expenses by updating ECU software without connecting a separate tool and a diagnostic device. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(140) receives software code data for update through a wireless communication unit(110) from a communication terminal. The control unit updates the software of one ECU in a vehicle with the received software code data for update. A wired interface(120) connects wired communication with ECUs. The control unit transmits the software for update to the ECU through the wired interface. The control unit manages software update history information of the ECUs. The control unit transmits the software update history information to a communication terminal or other communication terminals through the wireless communication unit.
