The invention relates to a bag that can be converted into a multifunctional rucksack. The design of conventional bags and rucksacks is such that said bags and rucksacks have a very narrow use; the aim of the newly developed type of bag is to cover as broad a use spectrum as possible. According to the invention, said aim is achieved in that the bag/rucksack has a tapered form (7) and is fitted with a multivariable carrying system that can be converted into 8 different carrying variants within seconds. The main component of the carrying system is a main strap (1, 2) running across the chest, which at the lower end thereof is fitted with a quick release fastener (3) and has a variable central slide plate (4); depending on the requirements and carrying variant, a lower (5) and an upper additional strap (6) can be affixed thereto. The system is versatile and can be exactly matched to any body size/shape. The bag/rucksack can be used, for example, as a leisure and business bag, everyday bag, shopping bag, baby changing bag for mothers, bag for hiking, for cycling and motor biking, for skiing and snowboarding, for cross-country skiing, for inline skating, for hunting, for riding and for many other activities.
