PURPOSE: A 3D display system including depth map mechanism and an operating method thereof are provided to reduce a throughput for calculating a vanishing point by identifying first and second vanishing lines by using a limited set of a detected line. CONSTITUTION: An edge detecting module(702) calculates an edge pixel image(202). A straight line search module(704) generates a line histogram(402). A line detecting module(706) detects a straight line from the edge pixel image. An extinction line search module(708) identifies first and second vanishing lines(504,506).
