PURPOSE: An image display device is provided to secure the top and bottom viewing angle of a 3D image without lowering the brightness of a 2D image by functioning as a 2D image displaying device in a 2D mode and functioning as a black stripe in a 3D mode. CONSTITUTION: A first pixel(PIX1) comprises a first top display unit(UDIS1) and a first lower part display unit(LDIS1). The first top display unit comprises a first top main display unit(UMP1) and a first top auxiliary display unit(USP1). The first top main display unit comprises a first pixel electrode(Ep1), a first common electrode(Ec1), and a first storage capacitor(Cst1). The first top auxiliary display unit comprises a second pixel electrode(Ep2), a second common electrode(Ec2), a second storage capacitor(Cst2), and a first discharge control switch(DST1). The first lower part display unit comprises a first lower part main display unit(LMP1) and a first lower part auxiliary display unit(LSP1).
