<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound image localization device capable of stably localizing sound image on a display screen of a display device even if a listening position is deviated from a front side, with no degradation in sound quality. <P>SOLUTION: A sound image localization device 10 executes a sound image localization process on the acoustic signal reproduced by a speaker arranged around a display D. It includes an acoustic signal input means 11, a sound image localizing process means 12 which executes a sound image localizing process on the acoustic signal, and a band dividing means 13 which divides the acoustic signal that has undergone the sound image localizing process into a frequency band that contributes to perception of acoustic signal elevation angle and a frequency band that little contributes to elevation angle perception by using a head part transmission function, and then outputs the acoustic signal of the frequency band that contributes to perception of elevation angle to all left side and right side speakers S<SB POS="POST">H</SB>and outputs the sound signal of the frequency band that little contributes to elevation angle perception to all upper side and lower side speaker S<SB POS="POST">V</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
