<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio terminal device and a communication control method, capable of efficiently performing a communication system switchover. <P>SOLUTION: A mobile telephone 1 performs communication by selectively switching an LTE communication system providing a first service and a CDMA communication system providing a second service, and includes: a first timer management unit 32 for operating a first timer when shifting from the LTE communication system to the CDMA system and after communication relative to the second service is completed, and for detecting the expiration of the first timer; and a communication switchover unit 31 for switching from the CDMA communication system to the LTE communication system in response to the expiration of the first timer.
