In an amplifying apparatus employing a load modulation (LM) system, efficiency deterioration is suppressed. An amplifying apparatus (101) amplifies input signals having amplitude information and phase information. The amplifying apparatus (101) is provided with: an amplifier (102) which amplifies signals having the phase information; a load changing unit (103) connected to the output side of the amplifier (102); and a load control unit (104c), which makes a load at the load changing unit (103) changed on the basis of input signals, and makes output signals of the amplifier (102) generate an amplitude change. The amplifier (102) is a switching amplifier.
