The mirror (1) has an attachment element passed through an aperture in a car body. The attachment element is designed as a tubular sleeve (6), which is expanded at a free end for creation of a clamping force. The sleeve is slit at the free ends. The sleeve comprises longitudinal slots (8) that are distributed at a circumference of the sleeve and a cone (9) threaded into the free end of the sleeve. The sleeve and/or the cone are made from plastic material. The cone comprises an external thread threaded into an internal thread at the free end of the sleeve.
