The rotor has rotor main structure (31) with circular cladding surface (16). Several wave-shaped portions are formed in sectional plane of cladding surface, perpendicular to rotation axis (2). Each wave-shaped portion includes arcuate sections that are formed in different curvature directions, and turning point which is set between arcuate sections. The two wave-shaped portions are arranged relative to one another such that the arcuate portions are immediately adjacent to each other and are partially surrounded in rotation direction. An independent claim is included for a wind turbine.
