<p>The proposed system for detecting and determining the location of unwanted substances in monitored zones comprises an air collector (2), a plurality of air ducts (3, 4) which connect the air collector (2) to monitored zones of a building (1), a plurality of valves (5, 6) with means for opening and closing said valves, which means are provided in the air ducts (3, 4), an outlet unit for the air collector (2), which comprises a vent device (7), a concentrating means (10) for increasing the concentration of the vapors of unwanted substances in part of an outlet channel of the air collector (2), an air composition analyzer (8) with a sampling device (9), which takes samples of air in part of the channel with an increased concentration of vapors of unwanted substances. The system also comprises a control means, which is connected to the air composition analyzer (8) and to the means for opening/closing the valves (5, 6), for simultaneously, successively or alternately closing or opening the valves (5, 6) and determining a monitored zone in which an unwanted substance is present, in response to signals from the air composition analyzer (8). An outlet unit for an air collector (2) and a method for operating the proposed system are also proposed.</p> |
